Exam classes are a great way to see how your child is progressing and are very rewarding for the student. The exams we offer are through the B.A.T.D. (British Association of Teachers of Dancing) in the styles of Jazz, Tap, and Ballet. This organization is the oldest and most recognized association in the dance world. By following the syllabus students are taught correctly, at the right speed, and therefore avoid damage that can be caused from poor teaching. Exam classes are highly recommended for all students, especially competitive dancers, perspective soloists, and anyone who is interested in assisting or teaching in the future. Once a student has passed their exam they will receive a beautiful certificate and medal or trophy from Britain.
Throughout the year all of our ballet classes learn the B.A.T.D. (British Association of Teachers of Dancing) syllabus. Every student has the opportunity to complete a dance exam at the end of June to achieve accreditation with the association. This gives dancers a tremendous sense of accomplishment, and assures parents that students are being taught correctly and at the right pace.
Examinations in Jazz, Acro and Tap in June and are done as a two week ‘crash course’ which build on the steps and routines taught in the weekly tap and jazz classes at the studio. Exams should be considered mandatory for competitive dancers, ballet students, those wishing to pursue dance as a career, or teach dance in the future. By working your way through the exam program at Premiere, students can achieve their associate membership with the B.A.T.D. and be internationally recognized qualified instructors.
