September has quickly come and gone and I hope everyone has settled back into their school and dance routines. I want to take this opportunity to officially welcome everyone to the studio! Whether you are a new or returning student, you’re in for an exciting year! As we celebrate 15 years of Premiere Studio of Dance, I look forward to all the amazing events we have coming up!

Santa Claus Parade
Every dancer is welcome to participate in the annual Santa Claus Parade held on December 6th at 6:00pm. This fun filled event allows all dancers to perform a dance routine down George Street in Peterborough. (Our youngest students are welcome to ride the float). Dancers will learn the steps in class a couple of weeks prior to the event. This year the theme is ‘Christmas in Toyland’ and we are all very excited! Miss Meggie is already planning for another award-winning float. Volunteers are needed, so watch for the sign-up sheet in the studio.
Showcase 2015
It’s crazy to think about our first competitive performance, but with so many routines coming along quickly, it is hard not to be excited about our upcoming show. The performance will take place at Showplace Performance Centre on Sunday March 8th. During the day, we will have a casual performance of all the team’s solo, duet and trio entries. A donation will be required for entry to this show. At 6pm we will do ONE performance of the entire team’s group routines, ages 4 to adult will take the stage! Do not miss out on this once-a-year opportunity to see EVERY ROUTINE in one show. Tickets do run out quickly, so be sure to be part of our mailing list to be the first to know when tickets go on sale.
Competition Tour 2015
Our award winning Competitive Team will be participating at the following competitions:
Bedazzled Peterborough – March 26th – 29th
Shine Peterborough – April 16 – 19th
Kick it Up Niagara Falls – May 7-10th
Shine Gatineau (please note the new location) – May 21 – 24th
Shine National Finals: Location TBA – June 29th – July 4th (for qualifying students only)
Recital 2015
All students will be participating in our Year End Recital held June 5th and 6th at Showplace Performance Centre in Peterborough. There will be 4 performances of 2 different shows. Our younger dancers (ages 9 and under) will perform twice on Saturday, June 6th at 10 AM and 2 PM. Dancers ages 10 and up will perform Friday, June 5th and Saturday, June 6th at 6:30 PM
Dress rehearsal is held at Showplace on June 3rd and 4th. A detailed schedule with exact rehearsal times will be released a month prior. As with our Showcase, Recital is a very popular event and tickets do sell out quickly, especially our Saturday evening show, so be sure to get your tickets early!
Student Appreciation Day
At Premiere, we do our best to make sure our students, and their families feel welcome and appreciated every day. But once a year, we go over the top! On June 14th from 11 AM – 2 PM, the studio will host a fun family BBQ, complete with face painting, bouncy castles, mini manicures, obstacle courses, a dunk tank, dancing and MORE! Don’t miss out on this amazing event that is a celebration of the year!
